Vermont Farm Sandwich

Are you brave enough? Our Vermont Farm Sandwich is simple but deceptively powerful. According to one Vermont farmer we know, a daily lunch of this is the best cold preventative there is! 

Start adding horseradish and raw onion to your sandwiches to help prevent winter colds… and brace yourself!

(Editor’s note: For authenticity’s sake, we recommend enjoying this lunchtime sandwich following a breakfast of apple pie and sharp cheddar cheese.)

Ingredients
2 slices whole wheat bread
brown mustard
horseradish
sliced roast beef or other meat
raw yellow onion, sliced
cheddar cheese

Instructions

Spread one piece of bread lavishly with mustard, and the other with a very thick layer of horseradish. Add the meat, several slices of onion, and 2 pieces of cheddar cheese. Put it all together, and serve with apple cider (hot or cold) or hot ginger tea.
